The perfect holiday gift for pet lovers
(Cincinnati, OH) October 1, 2010 – Lucky Paws is launching its line of PetCakes treats for dogs and cats at the H.H. Backer 44th Annual Pet Industry Christmas Trade Show & Educational Conference in Chicago, Illinois.
PetCakes, the first-ever organic microwavable dog treat that cooks in less than 3 minutes, are available in three fresh flavors – Original Carob, 3 Cheese and Pizza – for dogs. Cat lovers aren’t left out of the game – a new Cheese Nip PetCakes is now on the market for cats and their owners.
Each package of PetCakes includes two packets of organic mix and a re-usable microwave pan, in the shape of a bone for the dogs and the shape of a fish for cats. PetCakes can be decorated with peanut butter, low-fat cream cheese or applesauce for extra enjoyment.
PetCakes evolved from Lucky Paws’ first product, PupCakes 2 go, introduced earlier this year and the winner of the highly coveted “Best New Product” award at the 2010 Global Pet Expo.
“PetCakes are a line of easy-to-make, nutritious and tasty treats for pets,” said Melinda Kirk, founder and CEO of Lucky Paws. “Pet owners are busy but they still want to be able to make homemade treats for their pets – now they can in three minutes with PetCakes. It’s the perfect activity to share with kids or leave as a project with the babysitter.”
Kirk began baking homemade canine treats out of her home in the 1980’s. In 2008, she recognized an untapped market for a do-it-yourself, homemade pet treat. She wanted to create a tasty, all natural treat that pet lovers could make quickly. She started working on a recipe and found one that Bella, her best friend, loved. Soon after, Lucky Paws was launched and PetCakes was in the works.
